Tourist Attractions

Subtropical plant life on the banks of Lake Maggiore with orange, lemon, olive and fig trees - a stark contrast to the impressive, barren mountains.
Park Hotel Delta with its lush park is the ideal starting point to explore these fascinating opposites!
Centovalli & Beyond
For a very special experience we recommend that you explore the Centovalli ("100 valleys"). By car you will be lead through breathtaking gorges to the top of the valley where you will be rewarded with gorgeous views of the valleys and surrounding mountain chains. The road takes you along the sunny northern side of the valley. It connects the old inhabited villages (Tagna, Verscio, Intragne, etc.) on the mountain side, while the small hamlets on the shady southern side have mostly been abandoned.

After you cross the Swiss-Italian border, the Italian Valle Vigezzo Valley begins. The road through the Centovalli and Valle Vigezzo to Domodossola connects the two most important Swiss mountain passes: the St Gotthard Pass and the Simplon Pass.

A paradise for railway enthusiasts and nature lovers: the Centovalli railway. This bi-national narrow-gauge railway travels from Locarno (196 m) to Domodossola (270 m) in Italy along a spectacular route, over high bridges and through many tunnels of the Centovalli to an altitude of over 800 m, before continuing through the Italian Valle Vigezzo and back down to Domodossola.

We would be happy to provide you with further tips and suggestions for exploring this fascinating region around the Park Hotel Delta in Ascona on Lake Maggiore! >> Find out more about the region here!
